Stroke 2023

Market Analysis

With a CAGR of 8.8%, the market for stroke management is projected to increase from its 2015 valuation of $33,705.30 million to $66,871.95 million by 2025. A stroke occurs when a blood vessel in the brain breaks and starts to bleed, or when the brain's blood supply is interrupted. The rupture or blockage prevents blood and oxygen from getting to the brain's tissues. Three different forms of stroke are common all around the world transient ischemic attack, ischemic stroke, and hemorrhagic stroke. Blood tests, computed tomography scans, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, cerebral angiograms, and echocardiograms are used to diagnose stroke. Aspirin, various antiplatelet medications, and anticoagulants are used in the treatment of stroke.

The market for neurology devices is predicted to expand at a CAGR of about 9.11% throughout the projection period (2015-2025). The COVID-19 pandemic had a significant impact on the world's healthcare systems, with negative effects that were felt both by people who were infected and by others. As a result, treatment and surgical procedures have to be delayed to manage and save resources.

For instance, the World Health Organization released the findings of a survey that was conducted by 145 countries over three weeks in June 2020. The results revealed that the prevention and treatment services for numerous chronic diseases, including numerous neurodegenerative disorders like Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and dementia, had been severely disrupted, and this has become a significant concern because people with chronic diseases are more likely to experience severe COVID-19. Moreover, services were completely or partially disrupted in 48% of the nations.

The market for medications for neurological disorders is expected to reach a staggering $ 156.60 billion in value between 2015 and 2025, according to forecasts for market size, share, industry growth, competitive analysis, and trends. With a CAGR of 8.9%, the market for treatments for the central nervous system is anticipated to increase from $86.02 billion in 2020 to $174.38 billion in 2030.

About 15% of people in 2015 will have neurological disorders, based on the WHO. According to scientists' estimates, 40 million individuals already suffer from neurodegenerative disorders, and by 2040, that number will rise to 125 million. According to a report by the UN, 7.8 million people worldwide die from neurological disorders each year, accounting for approximately 1 in 5 of the world's population.

Over the projected period of 2015–2030, the ischemic stroke market is anticipated to increase. The market is projected by Data Bridge Market Research to expand at a CAGR of 8.7% over the aforementioned forecast period. An ischemic stroke happens when blood clots block blood arteries that provide blood to the brain, which impairs neurologic function. An ischemic cerebral stroke is indicated by the abrupt development of hemiparesis, quadriparesis, and mono paresis as well as monocular vision loss, diplopia, visual field deficits, chemosensory deficits, dysarthria, facial droop, vertigo, ataxia, nystagmus, aphasia, and a deterioration in mental status.

The market for the Guillain barre syndrome is anticipated to grow at a 5.20% CAGR from 2022 to 2030, reaching USD 608.62 million. An uncommon immune system condition is called Guillain-Barre Syndrome. The immune system of the patient targets the neurological system in this medical disease. Unknown substances are responsible for Guillain-Barre Syndrome. Guillain-Barre Syndrome frequently manifests as limb weakness, breathing difficulties, low or high blood pressure, and problems moving the eyes or face.

The size of the world market for stroke management, which was estimated to be worth $33,702.20 million in 2015, is expected to grow to $68,791.85 million by 2030, a CAGR of 7.3% from 2016 to 2025. A stroke occurs when a blood artery in the brain breaks and starts to bleed, or when the brain's blood supply is interrupted. The rupture or blockage prevents blood and oxygen from getting to the brain's tissues.

During the projected period, the neuroscience market is anticipated to grow at a 3.9% CAGR. Several research papers have been released to provide light on how the pandemic has affected the market under investigation. For instance, according to a study titled "Global prevalence and burden of depressive and anxiety disorders in 204 countries and territories in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic," which was published in October 2021, an additional 72.2 million people were thought to be suffering from neurological disorders in that year. Compared to 2020, the number of instances increased by 25.5% in 2021. In most nations, there is now a greater need to improve mental health services as a result of this epidemic.

Session on Ischemic stroke

Ischemic stroke is also called brain stroke. Because when the blood flow to a portion of the brain is blocked or diminished, brain tissue cannot get oxygen and nutrients, which results in an ischemic stroke. In minutes, brain cells start to degenerate. In recent years so many people have been affected by Ischemic stroke due to a lack of blood supply in the brain.

Dementia is a type of Neurological Disorder, It is a set of symptoms that substantially affect memory, thinking, and social abilities and are referred to as dementia when they significantly interfere with day-to-day functioning. Numerous conditions can cause dementia, even if there isn't one specific sickness that does.

Session on Parkinson’s Diseases

Tremors, stiffness, bradykinesia (slow movement), and postural instability are all signs of Parkinson's disease. Other symptoms may include a loss of smell, sleep disturbances, constipation, depression, and cognitive impairment. The market for medications for Parkinson's disease was estimated to be worth $5.9 billion globally in 2020; it is anticipated to increase to $11.2 billion by 2028, with a CAGR of 6.8% from 2020 to 2035. Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative condition commonly known as idiopathic Parkinsonism.
