Roberta Censi has a background in Pharmacy and got her PhD in Life Sciences from Utrecht University, The Netherlands. She is currently a senior Assistant Professor at the School of Pharmacy of the University of Camerino, Italy. Her research interests cover various aspects of the drug delivery and biomaterials areas, with a primary focus on novel and advanced biopolymeric systems applied in tissue engineering, and controlled drug delivery. With her research, Roberta gave innovative contribution to the fields of material and pharmaceutical sciences, authoring more than 60 highly cited refereed papers. Her innovative research earned her several prizes, for example the third Houwink prize 2011. She acquired the L’Oréal – Unesco ‘For Women in Science’ 2011 Fellowship and several Marie Curie European grants. She is co-founder and vice-president of Recusol, a spin-off company of the University of Camerino. In this framework, Dr Censi acquired valorization grants and business prizes.
