Janina Bahnemann received her doctorate (summa cum laude) at the age of 28 from the
Technical University of Hamburg (TUHH), Germany in 2014. She completed her postdoctoral
studies at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), USA and has been an Emmy Noether
Fellow (funded by the DFG) / Junior Research Group Leader at the Leibniz University Hannover
(LUH) at the Institute of Technical Chemistry, Germany since 2017. Her research focuses on
bioprocess engineering, cell culture, microsystems technology, biosensors and 3D printing.
