CELL SCIENCE 2019 SESSIONS
Session On: Vision on Cell Science
Cell Science and primary cells are widely used to produce cell-derived biomolecules and cell-based assays. It plays an important role in the drug discovery process and helps to speed up the selection of lead compounds and used against cellular targets of diseases. Cell and tissue science are an essential unit of cell biology that inculcates knowledge and practice of the fundamental techniques involved in the growth of the cells. This is applied in biotechnology to study the nature of cells. Recent research shows that macrovascular and microvascular complications associated with the cells are used to treat major threads like hyperlipidemia and hypertension in diabetic patients.

Session On: Insight on Stem Cells
Stem Cell has a unique capacity to develop into specialised cell types in the body. They are used to replace cells and tissues that have been damaged or lost due to disease. As it grows, they help in providing new cells for the body and replace specialised cells that are damaged or lost. They have two distinguished properties that enable them to do this. First, they can divide repeatedly to produce new cells. Second, once they divide, they can change into the other types of cell that make up the body. Currently, numerous Stem Cell products have been developed from various cell lines.

Session On: Oncology and Stem Cells
Usually, Stem cell transplants do not work against cancer directly. Instead, they help to recover the ability to produce stem cells after treatment with very high dosages of radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or both. But in multiple myeloma and some types of leukaemia, the stem cell transplant may work against cancer directly. This happens because of an effect called graft-versus-tumour that can occur after each allogeneic transplant. Generally, Stem cells survive much longer than ordinary cells, increasing the chance to accumulate genetic mutations. Recently researchers analysed that a class of stem cells initiate melanomas (skin cancer) in an animal model and identified an antibody that slowed tumour growth by specifically targeting the cancer cells.

Session On: Stem CellTreatment and Therapies
Thewell-established and widely used stem celltreatment is the transplantation of blood stem cellswhich is used to treat and restore blood cells and immune system. Stem celltherapy is widely practised since bone marrow has been used to treat peoplewith cancer conditions such as leukaemia and lymphoma. The US National MarrowDonor Program has done research with a full list of diseases treatable by bloodstem celltransplant. It shows that more than 26,000 patients are treated with blood stemcells in Europe each year. The Stem cellsare the factories which produce the compounds used for the healing process ingreat variety and amount. Currently, Stem Celltherapies are often used in abortion politics and human cloning.

Session On: Human Development from Cells
As known, Human embryos start its exploration as a tiny mass of cells. The first step in growing, from a homogenous ball of cells into a complex individual with distinct organs and tissues is to distinguish the cells into distinct populations. When you change only a portion of the cells, they organize in a very specific manner to create complex tissue in the early embryos. Instead of pushing the cells in one direction or another using melds or scaffolding, the researchers found a unique way to mimic the normal development through changes in gene expression that influence cells signalling and organization. A good deal of effort to generate specific, individual cell types from Pluripotent Stem Cell is harnessing the developmental biology to generate complex cell assemblies, tissues and organs.

Session On: Stem Cell Transplantation
Stem cell transplantation is referred to as bone marrow transplant, is a procedure that replaces unhealthy blood-forming cells with healthy cells. These transplantations may be autologous, allogeneic, or syngeneic. Generally, chemotherapy or radiation therapy is used in large doses to increase the chances of eliminating blood cancer in the bone marrow and restoring the normal blood cell production. The basis for stem cell transplantation is that blood cells and immune cells arise from the stem cells, which are present in the bone marrow, peripheral blood and cord blood. Current trends show that Hematopoietic stem cells transplant has increased its efficiency in all European countries and for all indications.

Session On: Biomaterials and Artificial Organs
Whole organ transplant is the only treatment available for patients suffering from a diseased and injured organ. At present, there is a severe shortage of donor organs for transplantation. Recent advances in stem cell biology, biomaterials processes show that organ decellularization and electrospinning has resulted in the production of bioengineered blood vessels, heart valves, livers, kidneys, bladders, and airways. Future advances may have a significant impact which includes a safe method to reprogram patient's own cells to directly differentiate into a functional replacement of cell types.

Session On: Cell Biology and Neurodegenerative disorder
Neurodegenerative diseases are distinguished by the loss of neurons in the brain or spinal cord. In the brain, Alzheimer’s disease and Huntington’s disease result in widespread loss of neurons, while Parkinson’s disease involves the specific and localized loss of dopaminergic neurons. While these conditions exhibit under unique neuronal pathologies, the exact mechanisms for neuronal loss are complex. Research shows that selecting the appropriate stem cell type and understanding the desired mechanism of support is only step in developing and translating cellular therapies in neurodegenerative disorder.

Session On: Organogenesis and Organ Repair
Organogenesis is the process of organ formation and homeostasis that relies on a symphony of interactions between different cells and tissues that collectively operate to maintain bodily functions. Tissue injury occurring after ischemic, toxic or inflammatory insults leads to cell death and possibly to organ failure. The most promising challenges in organ regeneration are the use of resident stem cells. The regeneration process taking place results in the complete repair of the damaged tissues or alter the remodelling in tissue fibrosis. Research shows that multipotent marrow stromal cells are the most established type of stem cells for organ repair and the most advanced cells in clinical development.

Session On: Cell Science and Molecular Biology
Moreover, Cell Science and Molecular Biology are closely inter-related and it overlaps with other areas of biology specifically genetics and biochemistry. The techniques used in molecular biology are also related to methods and concepts concerning genetics and biochemistry. Human tissue culture cells have long been a staple of molecular and cell biology research. Here we argue that combined advances in genome editing, stem cell production, and organoid derivation from stem cells represent a revolution in cell biology. These advances have important ramifications for the study of basic cell biology mechanisms, as well as in molecular biology.

Session On: Aging and Stem Cell Therapy
Ageing is a complex process that involves all the cells and organs in the body and leads to the deterioration of many body functions. As ageing increases, the skin loses its elasticity and injuries and heal more slowly than in childhood. Evidence shows that, although stem cells remain active into old age, changes in the stem cells and their microenvironments inhibit their regenerative potential. An understanding of cell-intrinsic stem cell changes, as well as concomitant changes to the stem cell niche and the systemic environment, are crucial for the development of regenerative medicine strategies that might be successful in aged patients.

Session On: Cells in Drug Discovery
Recently, the attrition rate of drugs is staggeringly high. More than 90% of the drugs tested in clinical trials fail to be approved. This places a significant burden on the health care system. Famously, compounds fail late in clinical testing or even after approval either because of a lack of efficacy or unanticipated toxicity. Human embryonic stem cells can be used for this purpose. Embryonic stem cells can be derived from patients with specific diseases and can be established to direct specific cells affected in the disease. Recent advances in the production of reprogrammed adult cells and their regulated differentiation to stem cells have been modelled.

Session On: Stem Cells and Radiotherapy
Radioresistance remains a major obstacle for the radiotherapy treatment of cancer. Radioresistance of cancer is due to the existence of intrinsic cancer stem cells and subpopulation of cell that exist in heterogeneous tumours. By contrast, non-stem cancer cells are radiosensitive and thus, easy to kill. Recent studies have revealed that radiosensitive non-stem cancer cells may undergo dedifferentiation subsequently obtaining the phenotypes and functions of Cancer stem cells including high resistance to radiotherapy. These findings suggest that in addition to intrinsic Cancer stem cells, non-stem cancer cells may also contribute to the relapse and metastasis of cancer following transformation into Cancer stem cells.
