In addition, he has over 100 conference presentations and about 100 invited lectures and workshops for the petroleum industry in more than 40 countries. He has served as an Assistant Professor at Penn State as well as Visiting Professor / Scholar in the Departments of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the following universities: Illinois/Chicago, Texas/Austin, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Trondheim), McGill (Montreal), Waterloo, and some other universities in US, India and Middle East. He is a professor and former chairman of Chemical Engineering at Kuwait University and is the Editor-in-Chief of IJOGCT. As a result of his work, Dr. Riazi has been honored as the recipient the following awards: Diploma of Honor from United States National Petroleum Engineering Society for the Outstanding Contributions to the Petroleum Industry, KU Outstanding Research and Teaching Awards (received from former Amir of Kuwait) and was an elected Fellow of American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Raphael Heffron is Professor for Global Energy Law & Sustainability at the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy at the University of Dundee. He is a graduate of both Oxford (MSc) and Cambridge (MPhil & PhD). His work is international and combines a mix of energy law, policy and economics. He has published over 120 publications of different types and his research has been cited over 700 times in the last three years. Professor Heffron’s research all has a principal focus on achieving a just transition to a low-carbon economy. Raphael was elected to the Royal Society of Edinburgh Young Academy of Scotland in 2018. His research and teaching has been recognised by the award of a Jean Monnet Professorship in Energy & Natural Resources Law (2016-2019) by the European Commission. His teaching has also been recognised in the UK by becoming a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy in 2018. In addition, Raphael is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Arts. Raphael’s research has involved funding from UK national research councils (the ESRC and the EPSRC), the EU and currently through the European Commission Jean Monnet Professorship 2016-2019. He is a Research Associate at the national UK Energy Research Centre. He has given expert advice to the EU, UN, World Bank, and various international thinktanks. Professor Rafiq Islam, Ph.D. is the President of Emertec Research and Development Ltd. and an adjunct Professor at Dalhousie University, where he was Canada’s first Killam Chair in petroleum engineering during 2000-2005. He has written nearly 800 publications, including dozens of books and numerous keynote speeches. He is the executive editor of the Journal of Nature Science and Sustainable Technology and the Journal of Characterization and Development of Novel Materials. He serves on the board of Journal of Sustainable Energy Engineering (JSEE) and several other journals and corporations. He is known as the most published engineer in the world. He has coined several terms, such as ‘green petroleum’ and ‘sustainable petroleum development’, and economics of intangibles’. His latest work titled: The Science of Climate Change (Wiley) is due to be published in December 2018. His ground-breaking approach in research, training and education is summarized in his book: Reconstituting the Curriculum (Wiley-Scrivener, 2013). His work has created a paradigm shift in a wide range of applications, spanning through various disciplines. His most notable contribution is in the area’s sustainability, environmental integrity, greening of pharmaceutical engineering, and knowledge modeling, on which topic he has written dozens of books and over 700 papers. One of them now has become one of the most innovative oil spill remediation technology development companies. During 2000 through 2005, Dr. Islam held the Killam Research Chair in Oil and Gas, which was the only Petroleum Engineering Research Chair in Canada. Prior to this, Prof. Islam was the first NRCan (Natural Resources Canada) professor of engineering at the University of Regina, where he was the program leader of petroleum engineering. He was instrumental in establishing the Petroleum Technology Research Center (PTRC) and the Greenhouse Gas Technology Center (GTC) in Regina. In recognition of his research and teaching excellence, he has received a number of international awards, including Einstein Gold Medal of Honor, and Crown and Eagle Gold Medal for both of which Prof. Islam is the first recipient in Canada. He taught virtually all petroleum engineering courses, ranging from drilling engineering to reservoir engineering and improved oil recovery. Dr. Speight has more than fifty years of experience in areas associated with (i) the properties, recovery, and refining of reservoir fluids, conventional petroleum, heavy oil, and tar sand bitumen, (ii) the properties and refining of natural gas, gaseous fuels, (iii) the production and properties of petrochemicals, (iv) the properties and refining of biomass, biofuels, biogas, and the generation of bioenergy, (v) reactor and catalyst technology, and (vi) the environmental and toxicological effects of fuels. He is cutting edge research were in the areas of development of smart cement for oil well application related to preventing the disaster that we had in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010. he had also developed smart drilling muds for application in the petroleum and geotechnical fields and integrated the advances in the areas of nanotechnology, polymer technology and material technology to modify the smart cement, drilling muds and expansive clays. Part of his research in the area of geotechnical engineering was on controlling the expansion in clays using polymers. Expansive clays are causing major infrastructural damages in many parts of the U.S. including Houston, Dallas and Denver. The polymer treatment method developed by him will be very effective in controlling the expansion in clays. His research was focused on the experimental studies and mathematical modeling of the performance of the smart cement, smart drilling mud and polymer treated expansive clay. he has developed several mathematical models to predict the behaviour of smart cement, smart drilling mud and polymer treated expansive clays. He has also developed models to predict the curing, rheological properties and piezoresistive behaviour of smart cement. He has also developed a new model to predict the rheological behaviour of drilling muds. The refereed journal publications are in Petroleum Science and Engineering, Geotechnical and Geological Engineering and ASTM Testing and Evaluation. His research work was also presented at the Offshore Technology Conferences in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 where there were about 100,000 attendees from around the world. His research work was also presented at the American Association of Drilling Engineers, Center for Innovative Grouting Materials and Technology and Texas Hurricane Center of Innovative Technology Conferences. Receiving an outstanding Teaching Assistant certificate in the Department of Civil engineering at the University of Houston, Houston-TX. Professor Reza Rezaee of Curtin’s Department of Petroleum Engineering has a PhD degree in Reservoir Characterization. He has over 26 years’ experience in academia being responsible for both teaching and research. During his career, he has been engaged in several research projects supported by major oil and gas companies and these commissions, together with his supervisory work at various universities, have involved a wide range of achievements. During his research career, he has led several major research projects funded by various oil and gas companies such as WAPET, WMC, MESA, Santos, NIOC, PEDEC, Devon Energy, DMP, Buru, Woodside, Carnarvon, Norwest and Anlec. He has received a total of more than $2.2M funds through his collaborative research projects. He has supervised over 70 M.Sc. and PhD students during his university career to date. He has published more than 130 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers and is the author of 4 books on petroleum geology, logging and log interpretation and gas shale reservoirs. His research has been mostly on integrated solutions for reservoir characterization, formation evaluation and petrophysics. Currently, he is focused on unconventional gas including gas shale and tight gas sand studies. As a founder of “Unconventional Gas Research Group” of Australia, he has established a unique and highly sophisticated research lab at the Department of Petroleum Engineering, Curtin University. This lab was established to conduct research on petrophysical evaluation of tight gas sands and shale gas formations. He is the winner of the Australian gas innovation award for his innovation on tight gas sand treatment for gas production enhancement.

Ahmed Mohamed Al Dhuhoori- Corrosion Engineer working in ADNOC OFFSHORE COMPANY –He Holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering (2008) and NACE Certificate in CP, Coating Inspection, Internal Corrosion of Pipeline. Ahmed Works as Field Engineer as Integrity Engineer in the Department of Plant Asset Integrity in Different Fields (Upper Zakum, Zirku Field).

Biography :

Xueyu Pang is a professor in the College of Petroleum Engineering at China University of Petroleum (East China). He holds a PhD degree in civil engineering from Columbia University. Before joining the faculty of China University of Petroleum (East China), he worked at Halliburton Energy Services for 7 years as Senior Technical Professional (2011-2017) and Principal Technical Professional (2017-2018) successively. Over the past 12 years, Dr. Pang has been directly involved in over 10 research projects in the area of oil and gas well engineering and published more than 30 technical papers, which has been cited for more than 300 times. Additionally, Dr. Pang is the author of 14 international patent applications with 2 granted patents.

Biography :

Dr. Mesfin is currently working as Assistant Professor & Programme Director of Studies (PDoS) for Chemical Engineering at Heriot-Watt University, Dubai Campus. He obtained all his BSc, MSc and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering. Before he joined Heriot-Watt University, he has worked as a Postdoc Fellow at Yeungnam University (South Korea) and as Senior Lecturer at Curtin University (Malaysia). He has won several awards both at the local and international levels. He has got award from IChemE (Institution of Chemical Engineers) for Research Innovation & Excellence and HoneyWell Design Challenge Competitions. He is Associate member of the institution of chemical engineers (AMIChemE) and member of the American institute of chemical engineers (MAIChE). He is also the reviewer for various chemical engineering related Journals.

Design, Operation, Optimization and Uncertainty for Petrochemical Plants, Oil & Gas Industries.

Biography :

Professor of Structural Engineering at the British University in Dubai and visiting research scholar of the Manchester School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering. He is a chartered civil engineer of the UK Engineering Council and a fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers in the UK. He is also a Senior Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy, qualification of teaching and learning and educational management. He was awarded the Henri Adam Diploma by the Institution of Structural Engineers UK and the Silver award by the Permanent Way Institute UK for paper published in their journals.HE worked at three UK Universities – at Queen Mary- London, South Wales and Ulster, and two Palestinian Universities, at Al Quds, where he set up the Department of Materials Engineering and at Birzeit university as Professor of Civil Engineering. His major research areas relate to the structural performance, sustainability and asset management with emphasis on durability and rehabilitation of concrete structures. He has published on the subject in international journals, including the Corrosion Journal and the Journal of Structural Engineers and ACI Journal. He has conducted consultancy work on bridge structural rehabilitation for Kent County Council in England, the Northern Ireland Road Service and Docklands Light Railway in London and at Al Quds University-Jerusalem.

Responsibility
The organizers hold no responsibilities or liabilities of the personal articles of attendees at the venue against any kind of theft, loss, damage, due to any reason whatsoever. Delegates are entirely responsible for the safety of their own belongings.

Insurance
No insurance, of any kind, is included along with the registration in any of the events of the organization.

Transportation
Please note that transportation and parking is the responsibility of the registrant, Allied Academies will not be liable for any actions howsoever related to transportation and parking.

Press/Media
Press permission must be obtained from Allied Academies Conference Organizing Committee prior to the event. The press will not quote speakers or delegates unless they have obtained their approval in writing. The Allied Academies is an objective third-party non-profit organization and this conference is not associated with any commercial meeting company.

Requesting an Invitation Letter
For security purposes, letter of invitation will be sent only to those individuals who had registered for the conference after payment of complete registration fee. Once registration is complete, please contact oilgas@alliedforum.org to request for a personalized letter of invitation, if not received until one month before the scheduled date of the event.

All the bank charges applicable during refund will be deducted from the account of the participant.

Cancellation Policy
All cancellations or modifications of registration must be made in writing to finance@alliedacademies.com
If due to any reason, Allied academies postpone an event on the scheduled date, the participant is eligible for a credit of 100% of the registration fee paid. This credit shall only be used for another event organized by Allied academies within a period of one year from the date of rescheduling. 

Postponement of event
If due to any reason, Allied academies postpone an event and the participant is unable or unwilling to attend the conference on rescheduled dates, he/she is eligible for a credit of 100% of the registration fee paid. This credit shall only be used for another event organized by Allied academies within a period of one year from the date of rescheduling.
Transfer of registration
All registrations, after payment of complete registration fee, are transferable to other persons from the same organization, if in case the person is unable to attend the event. Request for transfer of registration must be made by the registered person in writing to finance@alliedacademies.com. Details must include the full name of the replaced new registrant, their title, contact phone number, and email address. All other registration details will be assigned to the new person unless otherwise specified.

Registration can be transferred to one conference to another conference of Allied academies if the person is unable to attend one of the conferences.
However, Registration cannot be transferred if intimated within 20 days of the respective conference.
The transferred registrations will not be eligible for Refund.

Visa Information
Keeping in view of increased security measures, we would like to request all the participants to apply for Visa as soon as possible.
Allied academies will not directly contact embassies and consulates on behalf of visa applicants. All delegates or invitees should apply for Business Visa only.

Important note for failed visa applications: Visa issues are not covered under the cancellation policy of Allied academies, including the inability to obtain a visa.

Refund Policy:
If the registrant is unable to attend and is not in a position to transfer his/her participation to another person or event, then the following refund policies apply:
Keeping in view of advance payments towards Venue, Printing, Shipping, Hotels and other overhead charges, following Refund Policy Orders are available:
  • Before 60 days of the conference: Eligible for Full Refund after deduction of $100 towards service Fee.
  • Within 60-30 days of Conference: Eligible for 50% of payment Refund
  • Within 30 days of Conference: Not eligible for Refund
  • E-Poster Payments will not be refunded.
Accommodation Cancellation Policy:
Accommodation Service Providers (Hotels) have their own cancellation policies which are applicable when cancellations are made less than 30 days prior to arrival. If in case the registrant wishes to cancel or amend the accommodation, he/ she is expected to inform the organizing authorities on a prior basis. Allied academies will advise the registrant to ensure complete awareness about the cancellation policy of your accommodation provider, prior to cancellation or modification of their booking.
