Dr. Ruth Akiyo Mizoguchi is a geriatric consultant and trust dementia lead at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. She has been working as a clinician at the Chinese National Healthy Living Centre since 2010 and is also a member of the Dementia Steering group at the centre.
Ruth is Japanese but born and brought up in Hong Kong. She obtained a medical degree in Tokai University School of Medicine, Japan and then completed further medical training at Imperial College, London before embarking on her post graduate training in the North West Thames Region. During this period, Ruth spent a year of her training in Hong Kong and it is during this time she developed a special interest in dementia. She also gained research experience in Neuroimaging & Dementia at Imperial College. Ruth has worked at various memory clinics in London and also set up the memory clinic at the Royal Free Hospital.
