Pr Perreault is a full time professor in the Department of Biochemistry at the Faculté de médecine
et des sciences de la santé of the Université de Sherbrooke since 1993. His research has led Pr Perreault to develop a group interested in understanding how ARN molecules fold in order to adopt active structures able to assume different biological activities. He is a molecular biologist expert of the RNA enzymology and the study of the smallest pathogens ever discovered, namely the viroids. He holds the Université de Sherbrooke Research Chair in genomics and structure RNA. Finally, Pr Perreault has served on the board of the Canadian Society of Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology. Under his leadership as president this institution became the Canadian Society of Molecular Biosciences.
