Session on: Molecular
Biology
Molecular
Biology is usually combined with techniques of Genetics and Biochemistry.
Till 2000, Molecular genetics was the sub-field of Molecular
Biology. Since Molecular
Biology is mostly quantitative it’s in edge with
computational biology and bioinformatics.
Other zones of Biology focus directly or indirectly on molecules,
whereas developmental biology and cell biology focus
directly, while phylogenetic and evolutionary biology focus
indirectly. Biochemist focus on the structure and function
of biomolecules. The study of chemistry for the concoction of
biologically active molecule is an example of biochemistry. Genetics deals
with study of mutants and its comparison with the wild type (normal
phenotype).

Session on: Genomics & Genetics
Genomics is
a critique of structure, function and evolution of genomes.
A genome is
complete set of DNA with its genes. Genetics refers
individual genes,
whereas genome focuses
on whole set of genes. Next-generation genomic sequencing
let clinicians and researchers to extremely increase the genomic data
collected on large study populations. The central dogma of molecular
biology is the study of glide of genetic information in a
biological system. The dogma is for perception of the transfer of sequence
information betwixt bio-polymers in living organisms.

Molecular diagnostics is
growing quickly. Molecular diagnostics tests
perceive whether certain DNA or RNA sequence is linked with the disease
including the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP). The extension
in diagnostics and
personalized therapy is being driven by chances in molecular
diagnostics. Molecular diagnostic tests
whether DNA or RNA sequences are associated with the disease, along
with single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP), deletions, rearrangements, insertions and
others. Multiparametric Molecular Diagnosis also
has wide applications. Genotyping with
DNA probes can recognize every person on earth. Molecular pathology is
based on the revelation of new techniques that hugely increase the diagnostic
accuracy when facing with challenging differential diagnoses.

Session on: Molecular Medicine
Molecular medicine is
a board area where physical, chemical, biological, bioinformatical
techniques can be used to find the molecular structure. It is a link
between medical sciences and bioinformatics. Molecular
medicine helps in estimating the genetic errors
of a disease to contrive new molecular techniques for the treatment of the
disease. Molecular Medicine is
a new stream of regulation derived from Molecular
Biology in European Universities. Sequencing of whole
genome and finding the gene responsible
for a disease is difficult and time taking. Hence, to develop a therapy we need
to understand where and when the particular gene will
be expressed and also their functions when the person is normal and when the
person is diseased.

Biology & Biomarker
A biomarker is
an attribute that can be studied as an indicator of pathogenic and biological
operation along with pharmacological retort to a therapeutic involvement. They
indicate either normal or diseased activity in the body. Biomarkers are
specific molecules, genes, gene products,
hormones, cells or enzymes. Tumour markers are
made from normal cells and cancer cells. These are the substances which are
produced by cancer cell
or any other cells of the body in response to cancer or
certain benign conditions. Most tumour markers are proteins.
Moreover, recently, designs of gene expression and
reform to DNA have also begun to be used as tumour markers. Till now, above 20 tumour
markers have been distinguished and are in clinical use.
Awareness on cancer biomarkers has
elevated in recent years highly giving great opportunities for benefiting the
operation of cancer patients
by improving the efficiency of detection and efficacy of treatment.

Session on: Molecular Biology & Metabolomics
Metabolomics is
the study of small molecules counting metabolic intermediates (aminoacids,
nucleotides, sugars etc.) that exists between cells. The
metabolome dispense a sensitive indicator of the physiological status of a
cell and has potential uses in monitoring diseases and its management. Metabolomics or
metabolic profiling is the quantitative analysis of all such
cellular metabolites at any one time under defined conditions.
Because of the dissimilar chemical nature of minor
cellular metabolites a variety of methods is required to measure
these including gas chromatography, high performance liquid
chromatography and capillary electrophoresis coupled to NMR and mass
spectrometry. The yield from these methods can generate fingerprint of groups
of related compounds.

Session on: Functional Genomics & New
Technologies
Traditional methods for
analysing gene expression or
the phenotypic effect of gene activation can only study small numbers of
predetermined genes. The
techniques of genome-wide
inspection allow the study of the expression or systematic disruption of
all genes in a
cell. DNA microarrays are small solid supports to which there are spotted
individual DNA samples, equating to every gene in an
organism. When hybridized to labeled cDNA constituting the total mRNA
population of a cell and each cDNA binds to its corresponding gene DNA and can
be separately quantified. These new technologies are used to study the gene expression and
its regulation.

Session on: Recombinant DNA technology
The potential to sequence and
handle the genomes of
microorganisms, animals and plants has
led to major approaches in our conception of cell biology.
Major promotion in molecular
biology became possible in the late 1970s with the growth
of recombinant DNA technology.
This has enabled genes to be
isolated, sequenced, modified and transferred from one organism to another. The
everlasting alteration of genetic disease by gene therapy is
also now a realistic possibility. Thus, molecular
biology and the technologies that have been fabricated have
played a central role in the enlargement of human, animal, medicine,
agriculture and the biotechnology industry and are now set to meet
the provocation of global health, environmental change and food security that
we face in the 21st century.

Session on: Molecular
Biology & Transcriptomics
Transcriptomics is
an organized and quantitative analysis of all transcripts present in a
cell or a tissue under a define set of conditions (the transcriptome). The
major focus of interest in transcriptomics is
the mRNA population, although there is increasing interest in noncoding RNAs.
The focus on mRNA shows its relevance to molecular
biology. The composition of the transcriptome varies markedly
depending on cell type, growth or development stage and on environmental
signals and conditions. The transcriptome is the full set of RNA
transcripts produced from the genome at
any given time. Transcriptomics contribute
global and quantitative investigation of transcription under an explicit
set of conditions. The key techniques used are based on nucleic acid
hybridization and PCR.
Transcriptome is preferred for all quantitative analysis of gene expression as
transcription remains vital in
molecular biology.

Session on: Stem Cells
Stem Cells are unspecialized cells which are
found only in multicellular organisms which can give rise to number of cells of
the same type. The most important property of the stem cell is that it has the
ability to self renew. Stem cell banking offers the chance to cryogenically
save stem cells at their most intense state for latter
use in its applications. Stem cells are discovered and used from
different regions of the body such as peripheral blood, bone marrow and
umbilical cord. Among these sources, Umblical cord blood is thought to be
prepared wellspring of stem cells and can be protected amid
labour and used for pharmaceuticals when required. Cord Blood stem cells have been utilized for more than 25
years in 35000 transplants over the world.

Regenerative
Medicine aims at helping the body to form new functional tissue
to supplant lost or defective ones. Regenerative
Medicine holds the use of tissue engineering and stem cell
technology. Embryonic Stem Cells are pluripotent and they can
differentiate into all germ layers. Non embryonic stem cells are multipotent and their capability
to differentiate into various cell types is by all accounts more limited. The
capacity for Potency and their relative simplicity to isolate and grow these
cells are significant properties for regenerative medicine.

Session on: Current Trends in Molecular Biology & Stem Cells
In recent studies of Molecular
Biology scientists had found that genetic exchange alter the
physical expression. The contrast between meshed toes and distinct digits may
be the outcome of not just genetic information but how the genes regulate
that information. Researches had established that a compact, nonspecific twist
to a mammal’s DNA can possibly seed particular and remarkable physical alter.
In a different research of Molecular
Biology, introductory monkey clones were fabricated by the method
that made dolly. The initiate primate clones made by somatic cell nuclear
transfer were two genetically undifferentiated long-tailed macaques that had
latterly been born. The scientific milestone makes it a realistic prospect for
labs to manage research with customizable populations of genetically uniform
monkeys. On jan17, 2018 scientists disclosed that a cell holds 42 million protein molecules.
Current trend in stem cell is Stem cells help in repair of Traumatic Brain
Injury by building Bio bridge. Another research is patient’s own cells can be
used for the treatment of Parkinson Disease Treatment. Regenerative Medicine
and stem cells focus of Clinic heart research.

Importance and scope
Molecular biology is
a bifurcate of biology that deals with the study
of replication, transcription and translation. Central
Dogma of molecular
biology is where DNA fabricate RNA and RNA fabricate protein. The goal for the
conference is to create bond between researchers of biochemistry and biotechnology. During
19th century, because of high requirement for various chemicals such
as ethanol, butanol, glycerol, acetone and so on, the
industry related to fermentation technology is developing rapidly.
The recent advancement in fermentation process
by its interaction with chemical has given rise to new era. Large fabrication
of proteins and enzymes can
be executed by applying bioprocess technology in fermentation.
Pertaining the principles of biology, chemistry, and engineering
sciences, processes are prospered to devise large quantities
of chemicals, antibiotics, proteins,
and enzymes in a thrifty manner. This promoted the division
of Molecular Biology into
disparate areas such as Agricultural Molecular Biology,
Medical or Pharmaceutical Molecular Biology,
Industrial Molecular Biology and
Environmental Molecular Biology.
Stem cells constitute a thrilling area in
medicine because of their prospective to regenerate and repair
damaged tissue. Present therapies, such as bone marrow
transplantation utilize stem cells and their prospective for
regeneration of damaged tissues. Stem cells are dominant for living organisms
for many reasons. In the 3- to 5-day-old embryo, called a blastocyst, the inner
cells give rise to the entire body of the organism, including all of the many
specialized cell types and organs such as the lungs, heart, eggs
etc., For their distinctive regeneration abilities, stem cells offer new prospective for treating
diseases such as diabetes, and heart disease.
